MBA were commissioned by TfL / Mott Macdonald to develop the main control centre for the East London Line project and a service shed. Designs for the Design & Build contract have involved environmentally-sustainable proposals that utilize a light well, rainwater harvesting, photovoltaic cell arrays, passive heating/cooling and ventilation systems and a reduction in the impact of emissions, effluent and waste. Security plays a key part in its design, with elevated passive surveillance viewpoints, sustainable materials and considered approach paths.
