The Alumasc stand at Interbuild 2000 was conceived as a highly visible structure enclosing an oasis-like space in which to showcase drawings by autistic artist Stephen Witshire and images of the London Eye.

The tower is a 6m high, 11m in diameter, white, circular tensed-fabric tower utilising Alumasc products as integral parts of the design and structure. The slender, minimally braced, steel frame is reflected in a mirror polished stainless steel raised floor with inset glass exhibition cases. The structure is dramatically lit by high and low-level external blue lights which slowly brighten and dim, moving up and down its walls, to create alternatively ‘breathing’ and ‘generator’ effects.

The stand was fabricated and erected by Architen, and engineered by Jane Wernick Associates.
