6-mile walkway above Amazon

A British charity is planning to build a pioneering science centre in the heart of the Amazon with more than six miles of walkways through the canopy of the rainforest.

The $10m (£6.4m) project in Roraima, a remote province of northeast Brazil, will be designed by the architects who created the London Eye and designed a walkway through the treetops at Kew Gardens, west London.

The centre will bring together scientists from the Royal Botanic Gardens, universities and other organisations, but it is also intended to provide jobs for Brazilian tribes and attract ec-tourists.
